Karla Trincanello is featured on the cover of Design NJ
I asked Karla how she was able to achieve the much coveted prize of cover for Design NJ. She told me that she had been published in the magazine seven times and that her relationship with the original editor-in chief happened at an ASID meeting in 2002. For this story, they called and told her that they were looking for a home that she did that was considered ‘downsizing’, they call this ‘fishing’ for an idea. She said that she did have something and that she sent some scouting pictures to show them.
They had several ideas for the cover and told her that they wanted to re-shoot the pictures for the inside magazine layout spread and cover. This was the first time she was chosen for the cover, and that the cover is the last thing they decide on for the magazine. She told me that her first feature in the magazine was for a theater room years ago. She continues to get calls for her work involving Design NJ, it is a prestigious interior design publication. People tell her that they saw her work on there over the years.
